Everyone's life is a statement, and everyone's life is a work of art. Supported by experienced professionals in photography, film, and music, Executive Producer and Interviewer Jurgen Kalwa will document your own life's journey with a biographical film in the style of a polished A&E Biography, artfully capturing your unique presence and character, and preserving memories for generations to come.
The experience begins with an introductory meeting, where your personal biographer will work with you to establish the framework of the documentary. The conversation will address all of your needs from organizing memorabilia, photos and existing film/video footage to getting friends and family involved.
In-depth "life history" interviews are conducted by the filmmaker in the comfort of the client's home, using unobtrusive, high-performance wireless microphones and professional lighting equipment. He will take whatever shots he feels are necessary to capture an accurate profile and develop self-reflection. You'll need to track down, for example, black-and-whites of your parents on their honeymoon, vintage 8-mm film of your childhood pony rides, or home video of your college graduation. Experienced editors copy the archival footage, scan old photographs and documents, and cut it all together to create an inspiring tribute, usually as a narrative in your own words. Personal photographs are scanned at your home using portable equipment. An originally-composed musical score added to the background gives the film grace and charm worthy of a broadcast-quality production.
The completed Personal Documentary, 25 minutes in length, is delivered to you on your choice of DVD, VHS, CD-Rom or film. (Extra copies available at minimal cost).
A writer and director for corporate videos and television documentaries, Mr. Kalwa is well-respected for his insightful and accurate portrayals. During his extensive career as a journalist and book author, he has interviewed a host of distinguished personalities, including President Bill Clinton, Mayor Rudolph Guiliani, wine critic Robert Parker, writer John Irving, actress Kathleen Turner, singers Sheryl Crow and Bette Midler, fashion designer Donna Karan, golf professionals Greg Norman Gary Player and Annika Sörenstam, and Olympian Gold Medal winners Charles Barkley, Carl Lewis, and Mark Spitz. Mr. Kalwa is the author of a biography of Tiger Woods. He is a member of the Association of Personal Historians.
