Learn to Dance the Argentine Tango.
Argentina's gift to the world, tango is loved by dancers and audiences for its beauty, passion, drama and excitement. The essence of Argentine tango is life itself, but it especially reflects relationship between a man and a woman.

Learning to dance tango socially is based on simple improvisational movement — it gives you a lot of freedom and teaches respect towards your partner and others on the dance floor.

Offered is a private one-hour workshop (for one or two students), providing the opportunity to meet and learn from two of the world's best professional dancers and highly experienced instructors, Angeles Chanaha and Misha Nadtochi. Together they will give a brief overview of Tango history, music, tango etiquette, describe various types of tango styles danced at social events, then tailor a program to your individual level of expertise. All levels, from complete beginner to advanced, are welcome.

The workshop begins with walking exercises, the best way to get your bearings in the dance. Tango is a dance based on simple walking, so you are encouraged to practice this essential element. Right after you'll practice steps, learn how to turn, how to stop momentarily on the floor, how to navigate a crowded floor, how to interpret various types of tango music, and how to add your own signature to the dance in the form of embellishments.

Once you have achieved a basic competency, you are provided with guidelines for honing your dancing skills with ongoing practice after formal instruction has ended.

About Angeles Chanaha
Angeles was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Growing up in the heart of real Tango world, she has practiced Argentine Tango to it's perfection. As a result her list of dance partners includes two of the most famous Tango performers in the world: Miguel Angel Zotto and Carlos Gavito, Tony Award Winner from a Broadway hit "Forever Tango." She has performed on stage with the renowned singer Julio Iglesias, and has been featured on national TV, in international films, commercials, and fashion magazines, all related to tango. Angeles expresses sensuality and elegance, as well as represents woman's character in Tango.

About Misha Nadtochi
Throughout his career Misha received one-on-one coaching with European and World Champions to ensure the best possible training. Secrets of champions produced dramatic results: as a successful performer/competitor in a global ballroom dance scene, he had won the title of Russian Youth Champion in 1994 and represented his country in a World Championship held in Slovenia. Focusing on authentic Latin and South American rhythms, Misha studied Salsa with legendary Eddie Torres and Argentine Tango with the star of "Forever Tango" Broadway Show and Tony Award Winner Carlos Gavito, and at the same time he appeared in stage performances, in commercials, on TV in "The Guiding Light," and Off-Broadway in "Latin Fusion."
