Offered is an inspirational evening for those looking to further their passion for fine wines. The private wine tasting experience is a sociable and relaxed event with strong emphasis on lively discussion and participation. You will have the opportunity to taste and enjoy a selection of rare and prestigious wines from the vineyards of Burgundy and the chateaus of Bordeaux, currently available on the market.
With a unique approach, focused on fun and pleasure, wine expert Brian DiMarco will conduct a private tasting (for up to 8 of your guests) and teach you how to appreciate the pleasures of these extraordinary wines (for additional guests add $350 per person). This experience is friendly and informal but informative at the same time. Whether you are a wine novice or a connoisseur, the tasting will help you to understand why Burgundy and Bordeaux are frequently compared and contrasted as the two most important wine regions in France. Your experience will last for two hours. Tastings take place in your own NYC home, apartment, or hotel (all glassware and decanters are the responsibility of the host).
NYC-based wine importer and broker, Brian is founder and managing director of Barterhouse, a luxury wine importer and distributor. He received the Grand Diploma at the French Culinary Institute, studying under master sommelier Andrea Immer Robinson, Dean of Wine Studies. As a meticulous and dedicated consultant he provides information to wine retailers, private collectors, and high-end restaurants. His impressive client roster includes an international who's who of the world's finest restaurants, including Le Bernandin, Le Cirque, Scarpetta, Clo, Babbo, Cafe Boulud, Per Se, and more. He has worked with Christies and Sotheby's to bring in rare wine collections for auctions. Brian spends his days in exotic villas and his nights at five-star restaurants seated with some of the world's wealthiest people. It's his full-time job to scout the world's best wines and share them with clients.
