File Drawers Disguised As Fine Furniture
The word "Craftsman," when applied to furniture, implies goods built with honesty, integrity and simplicity. The solid-wood Barrister's File Cabinet provides lateral files that are not only beautiful furniture, but serious working tools for your professional office or home. Sectional, flexible office furniture has been hand-crafted for successful barristers and solicitors since the 19th Century, and the tradition is carried on in Upstate New York by the venerable Hale Company.
Sold as separate "stacks" with crown and leg base, the Barrister's File Cabinet meets every individual space and use requirement.
Walnut, Oak, and Birch hardwood drawer fronts are machined to match the sectional raised panel doors. Solid hardwood ends are glued up, machined and mounted on a solid wood frame of mortise and tenon assembly, secured with glue and heavy gauge staples. Solid wood top rails and hardwood plywood backs are fastened into place to give each unit strength and rigidity. Finally, an experienced Hale Craftsman installs the file drawer using sturdy, 150-lb. capacity steel ball-bearing drawer slides that allows a cushioned ride during use.
The best thing about these stackables is that they can grow over time as your files do. You can start with one or two drawers — then add three drawers or four, as you need them. These are the original Hale Barrister's File Cabinets, built with passion and thought. Handsome American Craftsmanship to own for a lifetime.
