A Place for Everything and Everything in Its Place.
Curators search for, acquire, appraise, analyze, describe, arrange, catalogue, restore, preserve, exhibit, maintain, and store valuable items that might include institutional records, works of art, coins, stamps, minerals, maps, or other historical documents.
For a century and a half, the profession of curator has depended on the use of practical file cabinets to organize and protect their collections and materials. Early modern record-keeping containers were fashionable wooden file cabinets worthy of eminent, distinguished institutions — commanding a presence far beyond that of mere office furniture.
Hale Manufacturing Company (Established 1907) still builds these file cabinets, crafted from select, kiln-dried hardwoods (solid Oak, Birch, Walnut, or Cherry), locally-harvested in the Adirondack Mountain region of Upstate New York, and treated with a variety of elegant finishes. Dove tail joinery methods are used just like on the older, superb-quality furniture, and two types of locking rails add stability to the sections. The drawer boxes are built to stay straight and glide smoothly, while a full-extension "accuride" suspension supports the heaviest of files. All cabinets have an anti-tip interlock mechanism (allowing only one drawer to open at a time).
The vertical sectional stacking feature allows you to design a set to your current needs, then grow as your files do. You create file cabinets of 2, 3, or 4 drawers. An undisputed classic for library or office.
