President George W. Bush used Global "Concorde" Executive Chairs at his Oval Office desk, in the White House private residence, at Camp David, and at the Western White House in Crawford, Texas. With patented, push button-control fluid motion hydraulic controls built into the arms, this remarkable chair provides the ultimate in adjustability and personal comfort.
The first button at the front of the left armrest releases the chair tilt into a free-float position that follows the user's movement to provide continuous support. Pushing the button a second time instantly locks the free-float into one of four fixed positions. The second button at the front of the left armrest releases the back angle into a free-float position that follows the user's movement. Pushing the button a second time locks the chair back into a fixed position. The button on the right armrest adjusts the seat height to accommodate all users. This adjustment emphasizes correct posture, minimizing pressure points, improving circulation and ensuring greater comfort.
The chair's design was inspired by Britax-Contour Aircraft Interior Systems, using the latest technology and materials. The chair body is made of heavy-duty steel frame on a heavy duty pneumatic seat-height cylinder. The multi-tilt mechanism was tested to 60,000 cycles and the injection molded glass-filled reinforced base was tested to 5,000 pounds. High density contoured molded foam seat and back cushions, conforming to natural body curves, will never know the meaning of sag. Heavy-duty components, including a unique "Perma-mesh" seat suspension, solid steel tube frame and a special base and caster set-up, are complimented with a choice of luxurious leathers with contrasting stitch detail.
Ergonomists have determined that the human body cannot remain static for long periods of time. To remain fresh, alert and efficient, the body must make small but constant movements to eliminate muscle fatigue. "Concorde" advances this most fundamental support requirement, and the push-button controls allow instant adjustment of back recline, chair tilt and seat height positions, sustaining body and mind in new levels of working comfort. The chair measures 28 1/2"-inches W x 27-inches D x 50-inches H.
