Invitation from Mr. Benson.
|
Ben Benson's is one of America's great steakhouses, nationally acclaimed for its superb food, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that feels like a clubby hunting lodge. Ben Benson founded the restaurant 28 years ago and he continues to supervise every facet of the business. At Ben Benson's, the old-school bar and dining room brim with energy as customers ranging from professional athletes and business executives to celebrities and devoted steak connoisseurs indulge in succulent prime beef and sought-after wines. Power lunches were practically invented here; just being in the place makes you feel important. Please stop by soon, and if you do, don't forget to say hello to Ben.
The Boss Sauce.
Direct from the rollicking steakhouse comes an exclusively seasoned sauce that enhances the flavor of a steak without masking it and doubles as a savory marinade. This is a full-bodied sauce in a rich tomato base with brown sugar, molasses, anchovies, onions, garlic, tamarind, and grated horseradish roots. It clings to the meat and gives your mouth a wake up call on flavor, the same accompaniment to steaks and chops that delights thousands of Ben Benson customers. Use it instead of ketchup on burgers. In stews and soups this sauce brings out the beefy taste of any cut of meat. Mix it with honey as a glaze on a roast. Try it on meatloaf, on pork chops, on French fries, even mashed potatoes.

Signature Cutlery.
This knife set has the honor of being endorsed by restaurateur Ben Benson, who is known for his meticulousness and attention to detail. The four knives in this set provide an air of authority in the professional or home kitchen. High-carbon stainless-steel knife blades are engraved with Mr. Benson's signature, hand-honed for lasting sharpness, and specifically designed to stand up to harsh detergent and high temperature of the dishwasher. The full tangs provide a weighty grip and are securely triple-riveted to beautiful handles made of a rich, striated Spanish Pakka wood that has been coated for durability. Housed in an engraved oak gift box, making a dramatic presentation for gift-giving.

52nd Street Rubdown.
Ben Benson asked his chef to concoct a spice-and-herb blend they could use to enhance the flavor of fish, chicken, prime rib and skirt steak -- robust enough for beef, but light enough not to overwhelm the delicacy of fish. The restaurant uses this awesome rub for mahi-mahi, blackened tuna, swordfish, chicken breasts, boar chops and blackened prime rib steak. With lots of love, give your steak a good massage with a light coating of oil or just press into the meat or fish itself, then grill, roast, or saute. Each packet contains enough to season approximately 6 lbs. of meat or fish.
Available in two 3-ounce packets or party-size box of twelve 3-ounce packets. (Look for the restaurant's mascot, Rocky the Bulldog on the label).
