As professional football player and legendary playboy, Joe Namath cemented his name into American pop culture. After winning the NCAA national championship under Paul "Bear" Bryant at Alabama, he was drafted into both the AFL and NFL on the same day. He made the decision to play for the upstart AFL league and the New York Jets over the St. Louis Cardinals and was paid a lot of money for doing so. But that money was worth it. He not only led the Jets to an AFL championship, but also won the league's first Super Bowl.

Namath, back in January 1969, bragged about how his underdog New York Jets would beat the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. Then he went out and did it. Namath, who was 25 at the time, became the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl. He not only gave the AFL legitimacy but created the Super Bowl as we know it today. Off the field, Joe was also known to have lived a lifestyle which earned him the nickname "Broadway Joe," who famously liked "my women blonde and my Johnny Walker Red."
