Rainbow Room "Art Deco" Champagne Coupe (Gift Box Set of 2)$29.00
It was called the Stratosphere Room when it opened in 1934. The name was changed to the Rainbow Room because organ recitals were held there at lunchtime and the organ was hooked it to a rainbow of lights in the ceiling. It was the crowning jewel of Rockefeller Center on the sixty-fifth floor of Thirty Rockefeller Plaza, the tallest and most prominent building in the complex.
Considered to be the "most perfect room in New York," the Rainbow Room was designed to epitomize New York style, glamour and sophistication. It was an intimate establishment where the elite and influential of New York could gather to socialize over cocktails, dine on fine cuisine, and dance to the strains of legendary big bands -- it was the kind of place Fred and Ginger would dance in.
Mixologists at the Art Deco-style bar used coupes with long, faceted stems to serve Champagne and Champagne cocktails. The 8.25-ounce Rainbow Room "Art Deco" Champagne Coupe is a revival of the iconic glass from the legendary supper club, inspired by neoclassical architecture. Offered in a Gift Box Set of 2 with original recipes for Champagne cocktails served at the legendary Rainbow Room.
