Warwick Hotel Ashtray

$189.00

The Warwick Hotel was originally commissioned by William Randolph Hearst in 1926 as a guesthouse for his Hollywood and theatrical friends, with a penthouse for his mistress Marion Davies, built across the street from the Ziegfeld Theater. The Beatles stayed at the Warwick prior to performing at Shea Stadium in August of 1965. Other guests have included Irving Berlin, Elvis Presley, and Cary Grant, who lived in a suite for twelve years.

Once icons of hospitality and glamour, ashtrays are part of Americana that now belongs to the past. Offering an ashtray from the golden age of glamorous smoking, now out of use along with cigarettes, but desirable for its connection to the culture of New York City in the twentieth century.
