Inspired by Roman triumphal arches, the Washington Square Arch was erected in 1889 in Washington Square Park, Greenwich Village, Manhattan, to celebrate the centennial of George Washington's inauguration.
Modeled on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the arch remains one of the Village's important urban landmarks. Each of the two tall bookends is a reproduction of the stunning arch, made of hand-cast and hand-finished crushed stone resin. Great for organizing and supporting large books, notebooks, binders, and magazines.
