Its lobby is a unique architectural achievement with terracotta figures that decorate the Lexington Avenue entrance reminiscent of those found on Notre Dame, and rows of winged lions adorn the building’s façade.

The Lexington features a penthouse suite that served as the residence for “Hall of Famer” Joe DiMaggio during the eighteen seasons he played for the New York Yankees. Marilyn Monroe was also a guest of the suite when the two were married. In 1960, eight of Joe's nine World Series rings were stolen from the suite. Luckily, Joe always wore the ring from his rookie season, 1936, so that one was safe and sound.

Offered is a rare ashtray, a venerable relic that someone swiped from the legendary hotel.
